Nigeria: Group predicts peaceful elections

As the fear of a possible outbreak of violence in this month’s election continues to grip Nigerians, a group of clerics under the aegis of Masters Seed Pentecostal and Evangelical College of Bishops and Ministries Network has predicted a peaceful and violence free election.

The clerics who are optimistic of a successful and peaceful election admonished Nigerians not to panic as God has already taken absolute control of the situation, assuring Nigerians of God’s intervention in the election.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the national president of the association, His Grace Bishop Emma David Okafoagu said the clerics were concerned about the peace of the country and decided to intercede for the peaceful conduct of the February elections.

The group which is made up of clerics from different parts of the country said their prediction was necessitated by the revelation they received after their prayers in 16 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which they said God assured them of a peaceful election.

They condemned inflammatory and divisive comments by some politicians.

which according to them is capable of destabilizing the peace of the country. It, however caution the political class to desist from such unpatriotic comments. The group equally predicted an end to the Boko Haram insurgence in the north and victory for president Jonathan.
