Nigeria: Opposition leader petitions IGP over attack on members

A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Hon Tony Okocha has petitioned the inspector-general of police (IGP) over an attack on the party members by suspected members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by the former chairman of Obio/Akpor local government area of the state, Prince Timothy Nsirim.

But the PDP, in a swift reaction, has called on the IGP to arrest and prosecute Okocha, who is aspiring to represent Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency on the platform of the APC, over alleged attack on Nsirim, which led to his hospitalization.
