Togo: 500 international observers to be deployed for polls

Several hundred observers will be present during the presidential election of 25 April. WAEMU, ECOWAS, the African Union and several NGOs, including representatives will have to monitor operations in nearly 9,000 polling stations.

The Gorée Institute, pan-African organization of civil society, which had already conducted a mission of electoral assistance in 2013 in the legislative, will deploy 75 observers on the ground to monitor operations and ensure monitoring.

The mission aims to independent and professional ', says the institute.

A total of 490 foreign observers were accredited.
