Côte d'Ivoire: Successful elections crucial to country's stability

If elections go well in Côte d'Ivoire next October, it means that the country is back on the track of stability and development, according to the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the West African nation.

Aïchatou Mindaoudou was briefing the Security Council on Tuesday on the situation there.

Côte d'Ivoire is recovering from a political crisis and violence that followed the refusal of former President Laurent Gbagbo to concede defeat in the 2010 presidential election.

Cristina Silveiro caught up with Ms Mindaoudou and asked her how the country is doing four months prior to the vote.
